our dojo family

We got a good group shot yesterday at the dojo, and the whole gang was actually there. It's a wonderful and diverse group of people, just as nice as they can be. That's always been my experience with karate people, though, there's a respectful way about them. Our sensei is a master, it has been such a privelege to learn from him, as well as a lot of fun. I've heard of this concept recently where everyone needs a "third place," that is, a place besides work or home where they feel a sense of belonging. The dojo has been my third place over the past several months, I think it's good for both body AND mind. And where else can you go and PAY somebody to beat you up??
