snow man "jousting"

I like Nathan's comment, "Not exactly jousting!"

Table 16

That's the name of the restaurant we ate at Saturday night...we had a table by the window where we could see the snow outside, it was such a lovely evening. Jordan tried my boots on while I was getting ready, silly girl!

the big 3-8

We celebrated Jon's 38th on Saturday, and we actually got to go to a Christmas dinner with some couples from his work, it was loads of fun. Wow, 2 more years and he'll be...that means I'll be...

melatonin

So, lately, Jordan has gotten into the habit of getting in bed with us during the night, or sometimes she waits until Jon has gone to bed (in the upstairs bedroom, where he usually sleeps for entirely practical reasons...apparently, I'm difficult to sleep with in that I talk and sometimes do things in my sleep!! Plus, when I get up to check Zach during the night I won't wake Jon, who gets up considerably earlier than I do to leave for work) and then tiptoes downstairs to hang out with me. Two nights in a row, recently, we ate a piece of lemon pie together. Gee, I wonder why she wants to sneak downstairs?? Or, another night she watched me wrap Christmas presents for relatives and some for the boys from my mom and dad while we watched So You Think You Can Dance.
But, some nights, a mommy needs "her time," and on those nights I sometimes resort to melatonin for little miss night owl, like tonight (I'm reading Volume 1 of The Sherlock Holmes Collection, and I was looking forward to it after the kiddos went to bed). So when she sneaked into the kitchen tonight where I was loading the dishwasher, it was actually her suggestion that she take a melatonin. After giving her a spoonful of peanut butter and her pill, I carried her upstairs and tucked her into bed. As I was leaving I told her that the melatonin should work soon, and then she said, "Mommy, if my mind fights with the melatonin, can I come and get in your bed?" I thought it was adorable. I told her of course she could, how can I resist?

pictures from Thanksgiving

Catching up with a cousin (first cousin, once removed) at Thanksgiving dinner.
Jordan wasn't the only little girl, yay!

First, without the flash...

and with the flash.

Gosh, I love this bunch. I hope anyone reading this had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I wish you a happy December.
