Nathan's 13th birthday, April 2013

Wow, I knew I was behind on my blog, I didn't realize almost an entire YEAR behind.  I blame Facebook, and my iPhone.  This was my first love, though, so I commit myself to keeping it up in 2014, but first I must bring it up to date, and I don't ever like to skip over important events, such as a birthday.

Nathan's birthday was spent on our spring break trip to Florida, his actual birthday being when we were on the way home so we stopped at a steakhouse in Jacksonville and treated him to, well, steak.  And dessert in these cute little buckets.  Also, before we left my parents' house we had a party for both Nathan and my dad, his birthday's 2 days after Nathan's, and Nathan wanted an eclair instead of cake.

When people haven't seen Nathan in awhile, when they do see him they are AMAZED at how tall he's gotten, and he's all arms and legs, which adds to the effect.  He's still growing, and I do believe he will be taller than Mychael by the time he's finished.  Nathan is funny, creative (which has really come out in his creative writing class he's been taking), a good friend, and a hard worker.  He loves soccer, video games, chatting online with friends, anything related to zombies, and eating and sleeping.  Sounds like a teenager!

a poem

I am right and you are wrong

that's what makes the world go 'round.

winter 2013

Nathan all dressed up for the Valentine's Day dance at school, so grown up!

At the barn

I was so jealous, she's riding bareback!

Last week I had all the cousins over for a play date, it was good to see the sun!

Isaac

Gabe and Jordan, couple of monkeys!

Our local library did the most fantastic job hosting an American Girl Valentine's tea party.  Jordan took both Emily and Molly (her dolls), and was joined by friends Joy and Jenna.

We enjoyed wonderful visit with my mom the second week of February, we almost never get her to ourselves!

My mother-in-law and mom, both so young and beautiful!

my girl's 8th birthday

Jordan's birthday celebration started on Friday night, February 1st, her actual birthday, at Hillsborough BBQ, a family favorite.  While waiting for Jon to show up we were being silly for the camera, as you can see. (Nathan was on a school climbing trip.)

Zach, the photo-bomber

The next day, we had a little party for her with just a few of her closest friends, plus her cousin Lily and Aunt Kit, her Nana, her great-grandmother Squires, and Aunt Mae-Mae.  Let me just say that Meagan went all out with some fancy hats for the girls' tea party, check them out!  The theme was My Little Pony, but we also had a tea party, of course.  We don't need an excuse to have a tea party, but this was definitely fancier than usual!
The My Little Pony cake

The girls watching Mychael play basketball, you should have heard the giggles!

Sweet Joy

She really is a delightful child, Leah just wasn't crazy about wearing a dress, let alone a fancy hat!

Several generations of girls (that's Grandmother Squires)

We had to wake Lily to join the party, bless her heart!

Jenna and Joy, I love their silliness!

Mychael missed the shot of her blowing out the candles, so here she is pretending.

Girls read every word on a card, so cute!

Nana made matching outfits for Jordan and her American Girl doll, simply amazing.

Complete with chaps to go over her jeans!

And homemade stick horse!

Lily loves her some Mychael!

I never did get a normal picture.

I used money my mom sent Jordan to get her her own horse grooming kit, yay!  (and did some clothes shopping later)

There's not much to say that the pictures don't already say.  I have a sweet, goofy, beautiful daughter.
